  1. Visit and log in to Advantages Online
    (If you are not currently enrolled in Advantages Online™, visit and click on Advantages Online™. On the Sign In screen, click Register, under New Users.)
  2. Under the Services tab, click on Setup/Download E-Statements
  3. Follow the prompts to accept the E-Statement Service Agreement and complete the electronic records verification process
  4. Turn on E-Statements by switching the Off button to On for each statement type (i.e. Member E-Statements, Visa E-Statements, and Tax E-Forms), then click OK
    Please note: If you previously signed up for one of the E-Statement types referenced above, you will not have to complete step 3.

Enhanced Fraud Protection for UECU Check and Credit Cardholders
Currently, UECU credit and check cardholders are contacted via phone call when a suspected fraudulent purchase is made. To further protect you, UECU has enhanced the fraud protection services. Beginning in July, cardholders will receive texts and/or emails, in addition to phone calls, to confirm if suspicious purchases are valid or not. We will ONLY ask you to verify if you did make the purchase(s) or not, we will NOT ask for account or personal information. The type of communication you receive (i.e. text, email, or phone call) will depend upon the time of day the suspected transaction occurred and if you have a mobile phone number on record with the Credit Union. Get Started on the Road to Financial Success with the MyFirst UECU Program
The need for financial literacy has never been more apparent than it is now. Many students and young professionals today are beginning their financial journey with a large amount of debt from student loans, credit cards, and living expenses. This year UECU embarked upon a mission to expand financial education for our members because we believe that everyone should have access to trusted financial information, tools, and resources to help them make informed decisions about their personal finances. Learning about credit, debt, and saving at an early age contributes to developing sensible saving and spending habits that benefit the individual throughout his/her lifetime.
There are many published articles on this topic. A recent study conducted by the Global Financial Literacy Excellence Center (GFLEC) and the PwC, noted that individuals aged 23-35 (collectively termed “Millennials”) were asked to complete a survey about their personal finances. According to the results of the study, 24% demonstrated basic financial literacy, and only 8% demonstrated high financial literacy*, reinforcing the need for organizations such as credit unions to supplement the efforts of parents and teachers in providing the education and equipping our youth with the tools to make smart financial decisions.
UECU is part of a coalition of credit unions dedicated to providing financial resources to individuals in need, including Millennials. In collaboration with the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association, and credit unions in our region, we recently participated in a Financial Reality Fair to help the students of a local high school learn about basic financial skills. The event created a unique opportunity for the students to learn about financial challenges that they will face after graduation. They participated in an interactive exercise where they could identify a career and starting salary, then complete a budget worksheet requiring them to live within their monthly salary, while paying for their necessary expenses. Credit unions across the U.S. are incorporating workshops such as these into their financial literacy programs to help young adults develop real-life problem solving skills.
In addition to participating in the Financial Reality Fair, UECU also expanded financial literacy resources and programs for members. We are very happy to announce the launch of the MyFirst UECU program. We realize that getting started can be the hardest part of the financial journey for those who are financing a college education, starting their career, saving for a rainy day, or looking to purchase their first car or home. So, we created a program that provides financial options to help our members reach these goals. Our new credit builder loans include no co-signer options for Visa® credit cards, personal loans, and auto loans. MyFirst UECU checking options include low to no fees, no minimum balance requirements, nationwide ATM surcharge rebates, and the convenience of 24-hour account access and mobile check deposit.

UECU Welcomes New Board Member Joseph Deane

Joseph Deane is principal owner of KTR Associates, a consulting firm based in Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania that specializes in electrical safety and electrical engineering & design. He has 30 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, Project Manager, and Executive, working in both the utility and business sectors. Joe is a graduate of Penn State University and holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering. He is a registered engineer in the state of Pennsylvania and is also a member of the Institute of Electrical Inspectors, American Society of Safety Engineers, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, and the National Fire Protection Association. Joe formerly worked within the GPU system. UECU is pleased to welcome Joe to our Board of Directors.
